Alt, Jim | 10/15/2002 at 1:51:49 PM | I am currently in my 9th, and last quarter at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. I will graduate from here in Late December with a degree in Graphic Design. I'm currently working at an art gallery here in Pittsburgh as a Custom Art Consultant. This has aloud me to meet several interesting people, and make some really nice contacts that will hopefully help me find decent job.In case any of you are wondering (I'm sure none of you are) My animated film Kung-Fu Duck has been put on hold for a while. It has become a much more challenging, and bigger task then I had anticipated, but I'm hoping to begin work on it again in Febuary and I'm shooting for finished film sometime in 2004.
(Hofer) Alt, Jeffrey | Jan 28, 2007 at 21:15:31 | Sup? I dropped the whole "art" thing and became a proffesional wrestler. I find that sport enticing to my senses if you know what I mean. Being a pro wrestler has it's advantages, you get to meet a lot of interesting people and converse with the most intelegent minds of the universe. With that said, feel free to contact me. We can discuss wrestling moves and spread the joy that it brings to everyones lives. Check my "myspace" out for current news. What an odd phrase "my myspace" Almost as weird as "Now, click on your My Computer icon." -Love, Jeffy X0X0xoxoXOxoxX

Belprez, Robert | Jul 27, 2004 at 05:43:46 | Well I've managed to land a job teaching high school speech and English at Davison HS. I have a year under my belt and it's been cRazY! Teaching looks a lot easier than it really is. Boy do I feel bad for giving all those teachers a hard time growing up (Mrs. Curran especially. Poor woman!)I guess I'm pretty lucky to have landed a job right out of college since the market for teachers has taken a downturn. The personal life is rather uneventful right now. Davison isn't too fun for a twenty-something (nor is Lapeer for that matter). Otherwise things are are going swimmingly (however that may be).
Blauet, Jason | 5/7/2002 at 6:59:58 AM | Currently I just passed the one million mark in my bank account, the weekly sitcom I star in, "Everybody Loves Blauet," is number one in the nation, and next week I'm having dinner at the White House with the President. And in my real life, I'm actually visting this page. That should answer any questions about how exciting my life is.
Chalice, Gary | 3/21/2000 at 5:00:23 PM | Yes my name is Gary Chalice but many still call me Jones and various other nicknames. Since graduating I attended Mott Community College where I played on the baseball team. I am now at Central Michigan University where I play baseball for the club team. I live in an apartment with Rob Belprez,Mark Ameel,Andy Allen, and one of our friends from Lake Orion. I am majoring in secondary education with a focus on history and hopefully a minor in Spanish. People think I am crazy but I would like to return to West to teach and coach. Before I entered the real world I would like to move to Colorado for a while and spend some time participating in many outdoor activities on the red rock. Well thats it for now. Fire Up Chips!!!!!
Crafton, Melissa | Jun 15, 2005 at 08:52:00 | Hey everyone. I currenlty moved back to Michigan after teaching for a year in Fort Myers, Florida. I missed my family and came back to fix my realtionship that had been going for years...I guess it was "too little, too late". We are no longer together. I recenlty moved into Charter Oaks in Davison, I'm working for a summer academic program for Flint Schools, and going through interviews; please think positively for me, teaching jobs are few and far between up here. Florida was great, and I plan to move back later in life. It is beautiful, although it was not home. I'm single and living alone for the first time ever, it's nice, but an adjustment to say the least. I'm about 1/3 of the way through my Master's Degree, through University of Phoenix--Online. It's nice not to have to sit in class, I'm home watching the Pistons play, while I should be doing homework...see where the computer gets me. Keep in touch! Melissa melissa_crafton@hotmail.com

I'm working on my thesis in order to receive my masters in education this coming spring. I plan on taking this summer to do some more traveling...hopefully overseas. I look forward to seeing everyone at the ten year reunion in a few years. Take care! |
(Millsap)Gipson, Melissa | 5/10/2003 at 8:24:17 AM | Hello out there. My brother directed me to the site. It sounds like everyone is doing fairly well. As for me I took 2 semesters at Mott before deciding that I wasn't so interested in my major anymore. So instead I got married in May of 2000 and built a new house and in Dec. of 2001 had a beautiful baby girl. I started working with my dad and brother at his Print Shop in Bay City. I like it a whole lot. I hope that everyone who is engaged/ newly married is doing well. It is a big change but well worth it in my book. Hope all of you are happy and Best wishes to all.

(Irwin)Irwin, Robert | 9/23/2002 at 5:07:31 PM | Hello, if you remember me, well what can I say, one day your in an art class, the next day your moving, soon your in college, then you have a digree, and then your wonting to move back. To any one that know me forget what your thinking and start looking at what your doing, college changed me as well as me living on my own, yes it is true what they say, you'll change and you'll grow, but life has its ups and downs, I never marid, I don't have kids, but being 23 has made me think and all that I wont now is to have a good life. College did one thing for me that will always be with me, a change of how I think and do things, and if you wont to go to college, do it now and get it over with. I bet that you would like to know what I went to college for, well art was always in my mind to do, but when you move to a place where you see art on every place you have to rederect where you would like to be more arts in, well Film and Video was the way to go, yes even Film is an art, I've done more films then any one that I went to college with and have had the best of luck with them, I'll be moving back to Lapeer on Oct. 26, 2002, so look me up, I'll be looking to make a film in Lapeer some time soon, may be even start a Production co. there too.

Lautner, Mike | Jan 7, 2008 at 08:44:19 | Does anyone ever actually read these things? Just in case anyone is curious, I'm still living in Kansas City. Have been since I graduated from Cornell in '02. I have my own home and am currently working two jobs until I can get my student loans paid off. On top of that I'm starting up my own home based business and trying to find my place in the local reptile industry. No wife or kids just yet, and no gf either. Who has time for all that when you work as much as I do? I hope everyone is doing well. Feel free to drop me a line if you feel the urge to do so. :) -Mike-

McLean, Travis | 12/19/2002 at 5:25:05 AM | Well, here I am checking a Lapeer West High message board after 4 years o out of high school life, heh. If anybody really cares, past re-living a distant and far off time known as high school, I now am getting ready to Graduate from good old Eastern Michigan University in the Spring of 2003. While attending EMU, or Ghetto U., I will have completed a bachelors in Political Science. I will also complete my Teaching Certificate this spring. Which I will use to probably teach english in the southern provence of China, Hunan. After the year Abroad I will come back to the States to get my Masters in Political Science then hopefully on to a P.H.D. or a good high school teaching job. What was the coolest thing I have done since leaving Lapeer in 98'? The parties are cooler at college than at the Voelpels house. I spent six weeks doing an independant study in Greece with the PKK (communist workers party)last summer I also spent 2 weeks in Turkey working with the PKK doing humanitarian work for the impovershed Kurdish people. I also have also been able to travel and Study in Italy, Portugal, Spain, Belgium, England and Australia. Its really weird to read all these names that I havent thought about in a long time.....heh kinda cool............and I still listen to bush....heh

Miller, Stephanie | Aug 30, 2004 at 10:29:49 | I figured I better update this since it's been a few years and things have changed. I graduated from MSU with a Bachlors degree in Animal Science. From there I pursued what I thought was my dream of managing a horse farm. That turned out to be a nightmare so I ended up back with my old job with the DNR. I'm currently a DNR officer at Ortonville/Metamora-Hadley Rec Areas and loving it. I get to play in the outdoors all day. It doesn't get any better than that. Last fall I purchased a house on Big Fish Lake. It is small but cozy and works for now. The dream of a horse farm is still there but I have a feeling it is going to take a while to get there. I'm not married yet and have no children unless you include my 3 heathen kitties and my 2 beastly horses. Life hasn't treated me to bad. Oh yeah, and Nina Kassarjin (sp?) became my sister in law last summer. Funny how things work out. We enjoy talking about old high school days and updating each other on who we see and what their doing. If any of you are ever in the area, stop by the park and say hello. Hope everyone is doing well!
miller, nathaniel | 2/7/2002 at 11:57:07 PM | yet another year has gone by and i am still in school. i have the real estate license but am currently doing NOTHING with it. other than that, its same old thing. school, to work(applebee's)--was almost management but they started to abuse my work ethic so i demoted myself. other than that i still love my toys--another new truck(finally my ZR2 sonoma!. live life like its your day. i wouldn't trade the tears and sadness for anything. smile to a stranger.
miller, nathan | Jan 14, 2006 at 12:56:02 | what a eventful past couple of years this has been. right around the time i submitted my last update, i got an internship with the DELPHI corporation. after a year of internships working from material cost improvement/reduction process to direct floor supervison of people as old or older than my parents, they then decided to hire me full time. I worked as a floor supervisor for the past two years and realized that trying to work my way up in the big coporate world was in no way to live the life i wanted. so i quit over the summer in june and took off to ft. lauderdale florida and did nothing for few months. now i am back, working on my florida real estate license, living in davison, and now also, working as a contract supervisor in Saginaw, for....DELPHI. its good money though. not married yet, have a girlfriend currently and spent the last four years with Cei-Anna, its been wonderful, yet i am not, no where near, ready to take the engagement or marriage step. i hope to be ready soon though, and if I am lucky enough, she be there with me. i think i am just scared to take that next step. family life is good, jennie is getting married to nick kamin in january. andrea is engaged to steve curtis, in which i got a wonderful niece, Skylar, out of it all. i think that is about it, life is flyin by, i hope to see everyone at the next reunion. feel free to contact me anytime.810-338-4198. i'd love to hear from you guys. REMEMBER--EACH DAY, EACH OF US WAKE THE SAME, AND EACH OF US FALL ASLEEP THE SAME.WHAT DISTINGUISHES AND SEPARATES EVERY ONE OF US, FROM ANOTHER, IS HOW WE MAKE USE OF EACH AND EVERY MINUTE IN BETWEEN THOSE TIMES. I TRULY BELIEVE I SHAPE MY DESTINY EACH AND EVERY MINUTE OF EVERY DAY. NO EXPERIENCE IS EVER BAD. THOSE TIMES IN YOUR LIVES WHICH YOU FELT WERE THE WORST, THINK BACK, ON HOW THAT AFFECTED YOUR LIFE AND HOW YOU EXPANDED AND GREW AS A PERSON AND HOW EACH OF THOSE EXPERIENCES WILL HELP YOU THROUGH IN THE FUTURE ON YOUR BEHALF, A LOVED ONE'S, OR EVEN A STRANGER.

I teach both Spanish and Portuguese language and culture here as well. I have been abroad for a total of 18 months in the past four years, mostly in Spain and Portugal. In fact, I just got a grant to spend summer 2007 in Lisbon, Portugal to do dissertation research. I got married in November 2004 to Sarah Rupp, who I met at Kalamazoo College. We have three dogs and a cat and recently bought a house in Bloomington. I don't make it back to Lapeer much, usually only near the holidays. | 1998 | Ranger, Dave | Oct 22, 2004 at 06:20:32 | Well, well. Since high school I tried college and decided that after all these years I really do hate school. For now I work way to much(the beauty of being a grown up). For now im working at UPS and doing some security work. | 1998 | (Wheeler) Smith, Nicole | Jul 30, 2004 at 08:13:48 | Hello Everyone! It's so nice to hear how you all are doing. I'm doing very well. I moved to California in July of 2001 and I am still here. I met my lovely husband Troy out here. We got married last September in Calabasas CA., and we are so blessed to have had such a beautiful wedding. He could have given me a better lastname though =) Troy is a horse trainer and also a Real Estate Investor. He too is from Michigan, which we both find very funny. He lived in Kalamazoo, and he did some work in Flint....yet we had to move all the way to California just to meet eachother! =) We both agree that being from Michigan is great, we just have no desire to live there again. Especially after living out here in sunny California. Up until yesterday, I worked for a Production Company called Anonymous Content. I was there for about 2 years, and I loved every minute of it. I had an opportunity to meet a lot of awesome people, and I also got the chance to learn a lot about the industry and how it all works. Let me just say that I had no idea how much work it really takes to put together a commercial or a music video....WOW! I am currently studying to get my Real Estate License, (which is why I had to quit my job) and I will be taking my Exam this October...yikes! I am also signed with a promotion agency, which keeps me busy and gives me an opportunity to do what I came out here to do - which is modeling. I have done promotions for Skechers 4-Wheelers, X-Box, Axe body spray, and many others. I just got booked to do a promotion in August for the new cloting line by Victoria's Secret, which is called Pink. I am really looking forward to that one! I am in the process of signing with another agency, and I will be going on auditions within the next couple of weeks! | 1998 | Sperry, Jaydee | 11/14/2000 at 9:28:17 PM | Hello out there - wow, Rosalie sent me a forward to this site in March and I haven't been to see it until now, November. (I have always been a very punctual person!) It was great to here all the info on everyone, so I guess I'll add my part. I was at Grand Valley for two years with a major in Biology, intending to go on to Med school to be an obstetrician, but changed my views a little. I decided to be a midwife instead, trying to dodge some of the 'goverment run world' I guess!! So, I went to a little school outside of Kalamazoo for that, but it wasn't exactly what I wanted. So then I spent some time in Cali and Oregon to look into some schools and a different turn in life. There I found a great school and awesome home in Eugene, OR. I am back in Lapeer until after christmas, then I have to be in Eugene a.s.a.p. It's great out there and my door is always open, (when I get there that is). So if anyone thinks they'd like to see a great city full of diversity and beautiful nature, let me know, I'm serious. Oh yeah, in between all this I got married, but that wasn't the way things were supposed to go either. I've learned that know and am in the process of ending it. Unpredictability, what a wonderful asset that comes with life! Good luck to everyone.jaydsperry@hotmail.com |
St. Pierre, Paul | Mar 18, 2007 at 08:33:15 | Well after high school of course I joined the army. I finished my training in October of 1998. Then I went on to 3rd brigade 2nd Infantry Division in Ft. Lewis, Washington. During my two years there I married another soldier. Together we both got transfered to Hanau, Germany where I spent 3 years(9 months in Iraq). I then transferred back to the states to Ft. Hood, Texas. Oh the wonderful US 1st Calvary Division oldest division in the United States Army. They have happily brought me back to wonderful sunny Iraq for two more rotations. I currently reside in Baghdad, Iraq on my 3 tour. Oh and the being married to another soldier did not work out so great with both of us being deployed to different parts of the world all the time. So I am back to single life again and loving it. I plan to reenlist again before I leave Iraq. I guess I was just born to spend my life in the military. If you want to contact me Paul.Stpierre@us.army.mil

Voelpel, Nick | 2/13/2000 at 9:05:38 AM | I gradutated from Lapper West, and it was the best/worst time of my life. I am currently attending GVSU after a slight excursion to Michigan State to part-take in the riots. At GVSU I enjoy long walks on the beach and am actively pursuing my goal of swimming in college, I am also majoring in physics with intent of entering medical school simultaneously from graduating with a B.S. If you don't understand why I picked a physics major instead off a chemistry ot biology major, too bad, this is just a summary not a novel; however it will be explained in my autobiography "The Other Half", due in bookstores sometime in late June.
Whitlock, Michael | 8/23/2002 at 4:39:34 PM | After four short years of college, I took the summer off and just recently started my career at Johnson Control's Inc. in Holland, MI. There, I am an engineer working with cargo systems for the back of mini-vans and SUVs. I love my job so far. It is very hands-on and I get to move around a lot and work with other people. It is great for me, because I can't sit still for very long and would never be able to spend 8 hours at a desk everyday. I also do a lot of traveling to Detroit and Warren to meet with Chrysler, General Motors, and other suppliers. It feels great to finally be making some money and enjoying the real world. I am not done with school completely, though. Johnson Controls will be paying for my part-time graduate school starting in January so I can get a Master's degree in engineering management. On a different note, I am also engaged to be married to a wonderful woman I met at college on a co-ed flag football team. We have been dating for a couple years, and probably wont get married for a couple more, because she has to finish up her teaching degree and do her student teaching. I hope everybody else is doing well. "Nibb High Football Rules!"
