Have been living in Potterville, MI (near Lansing) since 1986 (home of Gizzard Fest and the great train wreck of 2001). Working for the State of Michigan for 18 years, first 15 with the Dept of Corrections. Now with the Dept of Info Technology in the security office. Still get to Lapeer on a pretty regular basis seeing Mom and the rest of the family. Have a very cool son who's about to turn 14. Also live with two Siamese cats, two mutant fish, and five gerbils (the black one turned out to be a girl). Life is good and we're still having fun - class reunion every year at Lapeer Days in the beer tent.

WOW, what a great web sight! Okay my life story since Lapeer West. I headed off to the navy and was rejected for color blindness. I decided to chase my passion of music. Spent 3 years at Mott College catching up on some Gen. Ed classes then I enrolled at Michigan State in 79. I was very fortunate to win a scholarship on Trumpet (EAT YOUR HEART OUT JOE DOBOS). Received my B.A. in Music ED and proceeded to teach for several years. While at MSU I became an arranger and drill writer for the SPARTAN MARCHING BAND. Then I taught a few years then headed off toArizona State University where I taught trumpet and was also principal arranger and field instructor for the SUNDEVIL Marching Band. From that point on Istarted writing arrangements and field shows for HS Marching Bands, Michigan State University, ASU and also several top Competition Drum and Bugle Corps. It is here I have my true passion of judging shows and demonstrating rehearsal techniques at the World Championships each year. I still play my trumpet daily and no longer teach but am a member of the Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra.Maeila and Deb W would love to hear from you. We can share those band memories.

After chasing my dream career in electonics and avionics in the Marine Corps, I moved south to Atlanta; expanded my interest spent 7 years selling, repairing and installing industrial paint equipment. Cross training led me paint and coatings sales in Tampa, Fla and Virginia Beach, VA. Having the best of both careers, I'm still selling coatings but also have colateral duties as an IT manager and do computer network administration for a Novell and MicroSoft local area networks. During my spare work time, I am designing a website with an online store, beta testing software, or locating business opportunites using formal EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) or the web.I met my wife in Atlanta we have a boy and girl; built a house in Suffolk, Va on the river in 1995. Time permitting, I enjoy a day on the river fishing with my kids, or a round of golf in this vacation paradise. Suffice to say I don't miss the snow!

After graduation I worked construction for a couple of years. Went back to school in 1977 and graduated from Grand Rapids Community College with an associates in 1979. Ran out of money and joined the Navy in 1980. I served on both coasts in three different submarines (USS Benjamin Franklin, USS Birmingham, and USS Honolulu). Spent 11 of the greatest years of my life in Hawaii. I loved everything about the place. Went from a 30 to a 10 handicap (golf) and met my wife. Finished up my Bachelors Degree in 1995 at Hawaii Pacific University and took an early retirement from the Navy shortly thereafter. Moved back to Hadley for a couple of years but there isn't much use for an ex-submariner in Michigan. I landed a good job with a government contractor down in Crystal City, Virginia. I am a Logistician for a small company that provides logistic support to the Navy. I am surrounded by great people and I couldn't be happier. I am married and have two great kids, Ashley (13) and Christopher (11). I can't believe it's been over thirty years since we graduated. I wish all of you the best. Drop me a line if you remember me. It would be good to hear from you. kenneth.gordert@gte.net

I'm currently the Cultural Specialist for the Carman/Ainsworth Native American Education Program in Flint Michigan. I cover 8 Elementary buildings in the Carman/Ainsworth and Westwood Heights school districts. I teach 4 after school Cultural classes in each building between January and April, with our Native registered students. I research the topic tribe or tribes and cordinate the information into booklets and projects for the students. Our program does a full week in 1 building every year. This is called "Awareness Week". We bring in presenters from storytellers to dancers, and work with every student in the building. I cordinate all of the Cultural activites we do with the students. We also have a week of "Day Camp" the week after school is out. I also cordinate the Cultural activites done with students during this time.
